SPORTEL partners with Golden Foot for a Football day!
This year organisers of the GOLDEN FOOT join SPORTEL to create the "Football Day" which will be held Wednesday 17 October at The
Grimaldi Forum, as part of the SPORTEL program:
Program of the day
10:00-10:30 - Exclusive Press Conference announcing the Golden Foot laureates for
2012. Among the football legends already confirmed are Franco Baresi and Lothar Matthaus.
Nominees of the prestigious Golden Foot Awards are: Gianluigi Buffon, Iker Casillas, Didier Drogba, Raúl González Blanco, Xavi Hernández, Zlatan
Ibrahimovic, Ricardo Kaká, Andrea Pirlo, Carles Puyol and Clarence Seedorf. The winner will be designated by public voting .
11:00-12:00 - Round-table: " Financial Fairplay: Myth or Reality?"
15:00 - Walk on The Champions Promenade - Grimaldi Forum seafront. The winner of the Golden Foot award will leave its
footprints on the seafront of the principality of Monaco dedicated to the greatest players in the history of the football.
20:00 - Golden Foot Gala Dinner: reserve your table!
The event will take place at the Salle des Étoiles, Sporting Club Monaco. During the gala, the laureate will be awarded the Golden Foot prize in presence of numerous
football personalities.
On 17 October, German football legend Lothar Matthaus will be awarded with the “Golden Foot” award in Monte-Carlo as one of the greatest players of all time.
Former German team captain, legendary player of Bayern Munich and Inter Milan will enter the Walk of Fame of international football, leaving his footprints on the Champions Promenade
situated on the seafront of the Principality of Monaco.
Matthaus has an incredible palmares: World Champion (1990) and European Champion (1980) with Germany, 1990 Ballon d’Or winner and FIFA World Player of the Year in 1991, twice winner of the UEFA
Cup and record holder for the most World Cup matches played (25 games in 5 editions).
Lothar Matthaus will receive the “Golden Foot” award for his outstanding career in football together with Italian legend Franco Baresi who already confirmed his presence in Monte-Carlo.
