Jordanian Royals Celebrate Mine-Free Jordan
On behalf of his father King Abdullah II, HRH Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah of Jordan has patronized the celebration ceremony that announced his
country officially the first in the Mideast free of all minefields.
The event was held last Tuesday in presence of the Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon, and took place at the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Centre in the
Dead Sea. It was also attended by a number of Jordanian royals and senior officials, as Petra News Agency reported.
During his speech at the ceremony, HRH Prince Mired bin Raad, Board Chairman of the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation (NCDR), expressed
his thanks to Norway for its great support given though the Norwegian People’s Aid that helped Jordan in clearing its land of all minefields and thus fulfill its legal obligations under the
removal of all anti-personnel Mine Ban Convention successfully.
The Norwegian Crown Prince gave a speech during the ceremony and congratulated Jordan for its significant achievement. He added, “Jordan has shown
