Golden Foot 2012: four champions lead

There are only two weeks left, for the web voters to determine the winner of the 2012 Golden Foot award. Like in the previous ten editions, the public will decide which legendary footballer will leave his footprints on the Champions Promenade in Monte Carlo.

According to the recent polls taken,there are four main contenders: Didier Drogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andrea Pirlo and Raul Gonzalez Blanco.

Ivory coast Didier Drogba, still riding the wave of popularity from his win with Chelsea in the Champions league, has the support of his new Chinese fans from Shaghai; Ibrahimovic has already capture the hearts of his Parisian fans at PSG; Andrea Pirlo brought Italy to the final of the European Nations cup and led Juventus to win the Italian championship; Raul never forgotten by his Real Madrid followers is now playing in Qatar.

The closing date for the voting is October 12th. These last weeks will thus be crucial to determine who the winner will be.The other six candidates, Buffon, Casillas, Puyol, Kaká, Xavi and Seedorf are also still in the running. This year the winner will be presented the award by the Greatest Football player in history, Pelé . This should make this 2012 Golden Foot Award a truly special occasion. Along with the great Pelé, Franco Baresi, Eric Cantona and Lothar Matthäus will receive the Golden Foot Award due to their contribution to the game of football and their brilliant careers.

The Golden Foot Award is the only prize voted on by the public. The public answers the question: who deserves to be considered as the greatest footballers of all times? The winner comes to the Sporting Salle des Étoiles to receive his Golden Foot and place his immortal footprints in the Champions Promenade. October 17, nominated as "Football Day" by Sportel and the city of Monaco, will see the Golden Foot Gala take place at the prestigious Sporting Club, Salle des Étoiles, starting at 20:00. It will be an unforgettable evening with the greatest starts of the game.

The President of international jury

The role of president to 'Titan Sports' (China)

Chinese sports newspaper "Titan Sports" has been chosen to represent the international jury of  media partners of 2012 Golden Foot. On October 17 the next, in Monte Carlo, Mr Luo Ming will be the president of Golden Foot jury, representing the 52 international sports media.
