Prof Franco Borruto from Monte-Carlo to Berlin at the 27th International Papillomavirus Conference and Clinical Workshop
The International Papillomavirus Conference and Clinical Workshop will be held in Berlin, Germany, on September 17-22, 2011.
The meeting was designed to meet two challenges i) the definition of future directions of papillomavirus research and ii) a transition of responsibility to young researchers – the next generation.
The meeting will be preceded on Friday September 16th by a Preclinical Workshop “Gynecologic Oncology” introducing state of the art surgical methods and discussing best practice for patients with malignant disease.
Traditionally, the International Papillomavirus Conference consists of two parts emphasizing educational/clinical workshop presentations and debating basic research in the main conference.
The Clinical Workshop will commence combined with the Public Health Workshop on Saturday September 17th featuring general information on all essential topics and important aspects of papillomavirus research. The topics of this part will be presented by teams of international experts and most promising younger colleagues in the field. All presentations will be peer reviewed to ensure the highest quality in content and relevance. They will contain the updated, correct and comprehensible information on HPV that you will need for your ongoing or future work with HPV-associated diseases.
On the second day of the Clinical Workshop, Sunday 18th, you will have the opportunity to choose from concurrent sessions deepening your knowledge on clinical aspects or on public health related issues.
On this day also the Main Conference will commence emphasizing on basic research subjects. As you will be free to choose this will give you the unique opportunity to experience all levels of most recent papillomavirus research and up-to-date background knowledge.
Uniting all participants the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception will be held at the Konzerthaus at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin.
From Monday 19th through Wednesday 21st three parallel tracks will be devoted to cover topics of basic research/applied-clinical science/epidemiology-public health. Special attention will be
directed to poster presentations many of which will be in an oral format to foster contacts and discussions.
On Thursday 22nd there will be emphasis on Interdisciplinary Aspects, which certainly is a strength of our field of research.
Overall the workshops and main conference should provide you with a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary overview, update on the most recent findings, and broadening of your scientific and personal contacts.
We are looking forward to your active participation and hope to see you in Berlin in September 2011.
