85^th UIM GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The 2012 UIM General Assembly successfully closed in Greece. 

Looking forward to welcome everybody at the 86^th edition next year in Auckland, New Zealand.

The 2012 UIM General Assembly held in Corfu will certainly be remembered as one of the most well succeeded and appreciated.  The UIM President Raffaele Chiulli at the Gala Dinner said: “We are very grateful to the Greek National Authority for having hosted in such a professional and hospitable way our 85^th UIM General Assembly. The UIM Commissions, Committees, Council, Open Forum and General Assembly constructive meetings brought together 150 representatives from all over the World and will represent a milestone to tackle current and future challenges and opportunities of our Sport”. The intense and productive working week started with the Safety cockpit meeting, followed respectively by Formula 1,  Powertrain, Cominsport, Jet Sprint, River Marathon, Cominoff, IBC, Cominsafe, Formula Future, Pleasure Navigation, Formulae, Comintech, Environment, Executive Committee, Aquabike, Youth Development Program, Open Forum, Council, General Assembly and post GA Council meetings.  The main areas of focus have been the continuous improvement of Safety, Environmental and Youth Development standards.  A lovely Farewell Reception concluded the 85^th General Assembly where a new set of rules for all our sport disciplines were adopted and new executives, Commissions and Committee chairmen and members were elected and appointed.  Furthermore new Countries have been affiliated and they will be proud members of the UIM Family. The request of New Zealand to host the 86^th Edition of the UIM General Assembly next year in Auckland has been accepted.  

The whole UIM Family is looking forward to gather again and to celebrate the 2012 World Champions at the UIM World Champions Awards Giving Gala which will be held in Monaco the 23^rd of February 2013 at the enchanting Fairmont Hotel.
