H.R.H Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro to receive PeaceJam Visionary Award
Monaco- June 13, 2016 / / -- H.R.H. Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro, will receive the PeaceJam Visionary Award for her extraordinary work as an advocate fighting for equality between all people, and helping to eradicate violence against women. The PeaceJam Visionary Award acknowledges outstanding individuals who address the toughest social and human rights issues of our time from their root cause, apply visionary solutions, and advocate for the most vulnerable members of society.
Acclaimed Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, a true champion for indigenous and women’s rights, will present the prestigious award to the Princess. In addition, five everyday Heroes will receive awards during the 2nd Annual Billion Acts Hero Award Ceremony, Monday, June 13th at 5 pm.
The event, part of the Monte Carlo TV and Film Festival, will also feature the World Premiere of “Rigoberta Menchu: Daughter of the Maya,” the incredible story of the life of Menchu as a leading advocate of Indian rights and ethno-cultural reconciliation, and impart the message that anyone, anywhere can make a difference, just by choosing to take a stand. The PeaceJam Foundation utilizes the teachings of 13 Nobel Peace Prize winners including The Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rigoberta Menchú Tum, and others to mentor youth around the world to directly impact their communities.
